Be Barefoot - Vitamin "G" Earthing





"Do you remember the last time you walked barefoot on the beach or the grass, simply reconnected with the Earth?   How good did it feel?"





“Earthing” (Vitamin G) and the benefits of walking barefoot.


After years of extensive research has shown that connecting to the Earth’s natural energy, by walking barefoot on grass, sand, dirt or rock can diminish chronic pain, fatigue and other ailments that plague so many people today.  This connection is referred to as Earthing or Grounding. This was proved by Indian Ayurveda thousands of years ago!!




“Exposure to sunlight produces vitamin D in the body. It’s needed for health. Exposure to the ground provides an electrical `nutrient’ in the form of electrons. Think of these electrons as vitamin G — that is, G for ground. Just like vitamin D, you need vitamin G for your health as well.”


These electrons work like antioxidants, disarming the free radicals that age us. Some of the benefits of “earthing” include better sleep, weight loss, diminishing pain, healing of injuries, better blood flow, reduction of muscle loss with aging, enhanced immune system, and reduced risk of metabolic syndrome.


Even sitting in your yard with your bare feet on the grass or dirt can benefit you – which is fine when the weather is nice. For those of us big into health, walking barefoot outside (also known as earthing) Is good for our health.









THE BENEFITS OF EARTHING (BAREFOOT) 

  • Free massage – stimulating the nerves at the bottom of your foot by walking on different grounds, which increases your blood circulation and helps release stress.
  • Slowing down – where you can just GO with shoes on, you need to pay attention to where you’re walking when you’re barefoot. 
  • Strong foot muscles – which makes you move easier.
  • Improved posture – shoes in general are lifted at the heel. It helps in posture correction and causes many people to have lower back problems
  • Better immune system – studies show that because of the stimulation of the nerves, inflammation and pain reduces, your blood pressure lowers and other healing processes in your body get stimulated.
  • Connected with nature – literally! It’s therapeutic.
  • Reduced inflammation.
  • Reduced chronic pain.
  • Increased energy.
  • Decreased stress levels and muscle tension.
  • Improved biological rhythms – including the circadian rhythm.

EASY STEPS TO START WALKING BAREFOOT

 If you are one of those people that cannot walk without shoes, start easy!


  • Start with 5 minutes a day… 
  • If possible try starting this from a garden nearby your home off-road, sandy path, rocky road, forrest lane – but the side walk will do as well.
  • Go slow
  • Enjoy


Walking barefoot can bring you peace of mind…"When you’re fully barefoot, you’re fully aware of your surroundings, studying the ground for everything. Until your skin grows strong to be hyper-vigilant, looking at the ground for any sign of danger. Going barefoot means that from this step forward, you are now one with the terrain, not just a spectator. Focusing on your steps, rather than your problems, this to helps empty the mind and put you at ease. 


Consider it to be quieting of the mind. This gives you a great sense of peace or mindfulness, as you’re now focused purely on your walk, not on the troubles!!
