On festivals and special occasions we wear beautiful jewellery, clothes and makeup however we often forget our feet! Beautifying your feet is probably one of the most easiest things to do.
An alta bottle costs around 15 INR and it takes about a total of 10 minutes to apply and set it dry. If in case you are allergic to Alta since it is a red dye, you can also try Mehendi as it lasts longer and looks beautiful as well.
I really enjoyed this Diwali the old fashioned way, NO CRACKERS!!, Lots of Rangoli around the house, Diyas, Flower decoration and Wishing Lanterns. I also made sure that not only my face and clothes look beautiful but also my feet. Why should we ignore our feet?
I was also wearing Silver anklets on both the days of Diwali!!
There is old Indian saying that the lady of the house should always wear silver anklets in feet specially on Diwali as it is a symbol of goddess laxmi - the goddess of prosperity and if the lady of house does wear these, she brings in luck...
If in case you do not like one's with gungro you can wear silver anklets without the gungro also which are easily available at any silver jewellery store.

Sparkling Silver Shoes!! LOL - Sparkle With My SHOES!! :)
Both Alta and Mehendi complements silver and golden ankles as well as sparkling shoes, don't go out without them on festivals such as Diwali and special occasions such as Wedding Anniversary and Karvachauth.
Alta is available at any general store and takes only 10 minutes to apply on your feet. If in case you are allergic to alta, find a mehendi wala to apply mehendi as you need a skilled artisan to do it for you!
