Cosmetics & Consumer Companies that Test and Do Not Test on Animals List- Updated Oct 2012!!

It is very important for all of us to know that all the products that are sold in the market or all the advertisements that we see about Cosmetics or Consumer Products are Cruelty free or not?

That means was it tested on animals? Many Cosmetic and Consumer Products companies test on animals before they launch their product in the open market due to this procedure many animals like – Rats, Dogs, Cats, Monkey, Rabbits, Genie Pigs die a painful death. It is our duty as human beings to stop this or we are not human's ourselves.

You might have a to pay a little bit extra to purchase cosmetics and consumer products that were not tested on animals but at the back of your mind you know that you are not applying a crème or lipsticks that was tested on a animal which ultimately led to its death. Animal testing is MURDER!!
I recently came to know that many of my favourite companies tested on animals and I have joined PETA as an Activist and pledged not to purchase cosmetics/ consumer products tested on animals!

Please remember that brands keep changing their company policy. If you have any information that a brand is no longer cruelty free do leave a comment.

This section includes both companies that manufacture animal-tested products and brands that are owned by companies that have not yet adopted a permanent "no animal testing" policy. Please encourage them to announce a permanent ban. For a complete listing of products manufactured by a company on this list, please visit the company's website or contact the company directly for more information. Companies on this list may manufacture individual lines of products without animal testing. They have not, however, eliminated animal testing from their entire line of cosmetics and household products.

  1. Thank you very much for this post. I am from Spain but this list of products applies here too.
I appreciate very much the effort you make making a list of companies that do/don't test cosmetics on animals. I always avoided those brands that did test, but now I make it sure that they don't. It's crucial! I want to be beautiful outside, but most importantly, inside. I am forwarding this list to friends.

    XOXO

  4. Thank you for the list! I'm also switching to cruelty-free cosmetics ONLY and will never buy cosmetics tested on animals again. It's nice to know more and more people CARE and do not buy the first thing they find, without even considering all the suffering behind it. We all need to open our eyes and say no to cruelty!

  6. Hi Surabhi,

This is a great list, glad that people are working towards creating awareness about this. :) Wanted to let you know that NYX does sell in China since 2013 and even VLCC is not cruelty-free. I think even Inglot sells in China.

Also, I had a question regarding the Indian brands, what resources do you use to know about their testing policy? Do you use their website and Peta India's list or there is anything else? It will be very helpful if you will let me know as well. :)

    1. Hello Shruti,

I always check the peta.org list before I write about anything on this post as far I know NYX and Urban Decay had refused to sell there products in China and are against testing. Even Inglot never believed in testing in case they have tried to do this then it is matter of great concern because Animal testing has been banned in India recently!!

Please check the back of every product that you buy check out for the leaping bunny or bunny sign that means that it has not been tested. VLCC has a bunny icon at the back of every product and is also featured on the Peta India List....

I will keep on updating this list. Thankyou for your feedback!!

      Regards

    2. Thank you so much :) Actually, I have read that NYX has started selling in China but nothing can be found online about this, I even read that they are deliberately trying to hide it. Also, Peta India's list has many wrong instances usually, so I don't refer it much, I usually refer blogs like yours for this. :) About VLCC, again I am not sure, but basically any bunny logo will not do, the leaping bunny logo is a specific one and as per my understanding, VLCC is not registered with leaping bunny.

PS: Marks & Spencer skincare range is good and they don't animal test. :D Thought of letting you know.

      PPS: It is Srishty. :)

      Thanks again! :)

    3. Hello Shristy :)

Thanks for all the info...I will find out about N.Y. X as well..Peta India had no idea about animal testing on cosmetics till I called them up... after that they started fighting with these cosmetic companies...

So they made up their list after I called them and wrote a huge email that how come companies like Avon are calling themselves cruelty free even though they are not on the cruelty free list of PETA.org?

It's an honour to know that my blog has become a bible for you.. Thank you for referring to my blog for updates on cruelty free list...

I will find more information on VLCC as well .. they always write that they don't test on animals I hope that they are not lying....

I will update information about M&S as well ...Thanks again for the update...

      Take Care
